Great spot that's peaceful and has less crowds

Stayed 8 days in February, 2011
We recently stayed at this property for a week. The amenities and recent remodel make this a great consideration. Plenty of space and room for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids). Please note that the unit, while on the back is on the ground floor level
with the golf course, that you actually feel like you are in a basement unit (as you must go down quite about two flights of stairs below the entrance parking level). We were lucky we didn't have any older folks w/ us as this would have been an huge concern,
though our small kids did need guidance and tripped a few times. It also was a huge pain hauling luggage and groceries in and out. The shuttle service was quite handy and the access to the whole resorts beaches and pools was a key bonus feature.
WEATHER: You do take on risk that the weather this far north on the island can turn windy and rainy. When we saw this coming at the end of our stay, we shifted to the south end (Wailea) to a resort and continued sunshine, rather than staying longer in the north.
Our only (huge) complaint would be with the Checkin/Checkout process. Don't even think they'll give you your unit before 3p - even when it's cleaned and ready. We found out that the Kapalua resort mgmt (not Aloha Luxury Property folks) were holding back our
checkin to hold the unit to show to others (for a unit demo or for sale?) These people were rude and didn't even assist us even after 3p (we had to go back and remind them). Our checkin was incomplete (no parking passes, no resort cards, etc.) and unfortunately
we got the same person on checkout - who was just as clueless and rude. Luckily we had other friends staying in the complex who informed us of what we should have received. Even better that we only had to deal w/ the Kapalua folks on the start/finish of our
vacation (though it left a horrible first impression and last point of contact). Shocking that this resort would be associated w/ a Ritz Carlton, where customer service
