It is not possible to say enough good things about this rental property! We have stayed in many fine places on Maui in the past (about 20), but none come even close to the Azure Dreams at Makena Surf. The location could not be better--we were 30 feet from the sand! We never tired of the view of the beach, the sand, the beautiful clear blue waters, the sunsets. Snorkeling from our beach (which was never crowded) was amazing! There were so many types of fish! It was better than Molkini! Turtletown was on our front door step and our kids were enthralled to see turtles up close! The condo was really spacious and suited our family of 6 perfectly. Everything was very clean, and it looked like the owners had just replaced the carpet in the living room/dining room. Beds were very comfy with nice pillows and sheets. There were lots of great quality beach and bath towels too! The box on the back lanai was full of beach toys. The kitchen had everything (and more) that we needed. We ate all our meals out on the huge lanai. And with a view like that we didn't need to go to any restaurants. The grounds at Makena Surf were astounding! The gardeners have truly created something like a 15 acre florist shop! It would have been easy to spend half your time just wandering around the well-kept grounds. But, the beach calls. Thanks Tricia for a wonderful 23 days and nights! I've still got a little sand in my shoes, but I think I'll leave it there as long as I can. As a reminder of our best Maui vacation ever!
second time back. great location. great unit. only complaint is that they do not provide shampoo, conditioner, and soap for the showers.
This place was great. It was the first time we had stayed in a condo when in Maui. We will stay here everytime from now on. The reservation folks were very helpful, personal, and updated us in a very timely manner as the stay approached. The check in was flawless and quick. Condo location is right on the beach, had a large balcony, and at a great location in Makena. Condo was very clean (we are very particular about this)and had all the kitchen/cooking items needed. It was very private and quiet as well, even with other guest around, we never heard anyone else. The entire experience from the booking through departure was a great experience. We look forward to the next stay. Thank you!
We could not have had a better experience! We are VRBO property owners, and when considering our recent stay in Maui, used VRBO to find this wonderful property. The location is perfect, the condo very clean and had everything we needed. We heard many comments from people on the beach, that they wished they were staying at the Makena Surf property. The management staff for the property was very helpful and if we go back to Maui, would not consider staying anywhere else! We loved being able to have breakfast and lunch on the balcony, and trying local places for dinner. The short walk down to the beach, and having body boards, and umbrella's provided, with beach chairs was wonderful. A dip in the pool and hot tub, after a day on the beach, was a perfect way to spend every day. The gardens and grounds are perfect and maintained to the highest standards. Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay!
We had a great time. The location and the grounds were the big pluses. The condo itself was good with extras such as boogie boards, etc. The 2nd bedroom door needs to have an inch off the bottom for better air return. The laundry door needs to be made into two door, the bottom being extended out with a shelf on top to hide the crack between the two doors. This would enable one to close the door completely. These comments are constructive and critical. Again, we enjoyed our stay in part due to the perfect weather.
Great snorkeling to the left of the beach. Quiet and private. Used the grill every day. Decided our view was better than any restaurant and the food was certainly less expensive.
We stayed in Unit B207 at Makena Surf in January 2011. The pictures we saw on the internet and the descriptions we got from the property manager (owner?) over the telephone were absolutely accurate. This is a gorgeous 2nd floor, 2 bdrm, 2 bthrm condo overlooking a lovely beach on absolutely gorgeous grounds. The property is quiet, safe and well-maintained. It was slightly difficult to find as the gate is almost hidden among the lush greenery - but you can't really complain about that! It is a bit out of the way from Kihei and Lahaina, but that is what we wanted. The beach in front of the unit is beautiful golden sand and the waves are not too crazy, but still fun. The snorkelling immediately beside the condo complex is amazing! We saw so many turtles and all kinds of fish. We could often see whales from our lanai. The property is immaculate and lush and the groundskeepers are helpful in answering questions. There is an herb garden and we picked fresh limes for our Coronas! We had to call the manager to bring a new toaster and some dishcloths and fix the sink - they were responsive but did not seem to be available on the weekends (we were not too fussed about it so maybe there was an emergency number we could have used - I'm not sure). We would highly recommend this vacation property if you are looking for a beautiful beach that is not too crowded - the beach is so beautiful that people were often having their wedding photos taken there at sunset - and a quiet, restful, rejuvenating, inspiring vacation. We had two teenagers with us and there were no other teenagers at the property (there were small children, but it mostly seemed to be retired owners), but the boys still had a fabulous time and we enjoyed the quiet, bonding time with them.
We had a great time at this beautiful condo. Our 4th trip to Maui, first time at this property and we think it's the best of all we have stayed in (also stayed up north near Lahaina). Amazing sunsets, amazing beach, fabulous snorkeling right outside the property, convenient shopping nearby... this place has it all. Kitchen is very well stocked and unit has a bbq on the lanai. Furniture is comfortable and electronics are all you could ask for. I took one star off because the lanai doors didn't lock, but as the unit is on the second floor, it's less of an issue. That was the only thing not perfect about our stay! We absolutely would stay here again and hope to. You won't be disappointed.
We did not realize how nice the beach here was until we walked the beach near the Fairmont. This is a great location. Very private and quiet. Nice pool. Great landscaping. We loved the place. Only problem is the carpet should be removed and the furniture should be replaced. Other than that, the place was great. We will stay again.
This was the perfect place to complete our Hawaiian vacation. It was relaxing, beachfront, and many wonderful restaurants around it. There's also a grill on the lanai, which we loved, when we didn't feel like going out to lunch or dinner! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Makena Surf and highly recommend it to others!
This is one of the most impressive condos we've ever stayed in. Great location in Maui, fantastic beach and beautiful property. We won't consider staying anywhere else in the future.

the window in the master bedroom was broken and couldn't be used. I recommend replacing the curtains with shutters. We called Angela for a pitcher and discovered she is a masseuse.She provided amazing service right in the condo with the most relaxing and therapeutic massages. We enjoyed meeting her very much! We also love the herb garden and used it several times. The dishwasher needs to be leveled, the rack slides back in while one is trying to load it, annoying. All of this said we really had a great trip but probably would not have felt quite so positive had we paid the full rate for this unit.
This was our 2nd year at this location and we absolutely enjoyed every minute! Mahalo for providing such a beautiful place and perfect location.

We loved everyting about the condo and its location - the view couldn't be better! only negative comment (and it's minor), is that the master bedroom showerhead needs to be replaced. Other than that, everything was perfect!
Amazing place! Enjoyed sunsets every night while viewing multiple weddings taking place on the beach below, also snorkeled with the turtles and boogie boarded all with out getting into a car!! Mother's Day the gardener gave us a beautiful bouquet of flowers, the security guard gave us great restaurant tips, wonderful staff!! Highly recommend Makena Surf!!

We had an idyllic vacation at Makena Surf.
We loved the unit and the Makena Surf property. The condo was nicely furnished, had a great kitchen, and a truly amazing deck overlooking the beach. We could see whales and georgeous sunsets right from the deck. The beach is great for lounging, swimming, and snorkeling. The pool was great for both adults and kids. The kids had so much fun playing on the beach every morning, coming in for lunch, and then finishing the day at the pool. It was the most relaxing vacation we've ever had, because the kids (6 & 8)were able to entertain themselves with so much to do.
Excellent location. Condo was beautiful and view was breathtaking. We were there during the renovation so it was a little noisy and sometimes not easy to get around the complex, but we truly enjoyed every other aspect of our stay. Beach was never crowded and it is a great snorkeling spot.

The surveillance camera above the patio was an invasion of privacy. Arrived at night so missed the unlit entrance. Guard was not helpful. A map of the property would have helped. The property was extremely clean well equipped with a wonderful panorama.
